LightCounting was founded and driven by its customers' need to monitor current sales activity and relevant industry information within the transceiver market. Global sales of optical transceivers exceed one billion dollars per year, yet reliable information on transceiver sales, volumes and pricing is not readily available. Transceiver vendors often have to rely upon limited guidance from their customers or circulated industry rumors to estimate market size and growth. LightCounting was formed to provide real market visibility to its customers, not good guesses.

What We Do

Simply, LightCounting provides highly detailed and accurate information on transceiver sales obtained by means of a semi-annual survey of transceiver vendors. Transceiver summary findings include a break-down of the total market by segments and quarterly revenues. Transceiver quarterly revenues are broken-down by market segments, data rate, reach and form factor.

In addition to reporting transceiver sales from the last five to seven calendar quarters, LightCounting also provides a rolling, four-year forecast for transceiver sales.
