Opnext, Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacturing of optical modules and components, today announced that the Company has shipped more than one million 10G transceivers to its global customer base. As an industry leader in 10G and above transceivers, Opnext offers a broad portfolio of products in the 10G family, including 300 pin, XENPAK, X2, XPAK, XFP and SFP+, encompassing all port types within these form factors. The Company's modules support SONET OC-192, SDH STM-64 and 10GbE protocols, enabling long-reach terrestrial transmission, metropolitan area network, optical add-drop multiplexer (OADM), access, enterprise switching, high-speed data and storage communications.

Opnext's 10G module transceivers fully comply with industry standards from ITU-T G.691, G.709, and IEEE 802.3, and OIF recommendations, supporting a variety of electrical interfaces, including SFI-4, XAUI and XFI, which ease the integration onto system host boards. Opnext transceivers meet or exceed standards established by industry Multi Source Agreements (MSAs).
