Transceiver sales increased by 50% in 2004, will this growth extend into 2005? We will present a summary of Q1 2005 sales and estimates for the rest of the year at our upcoming webcast.
There are 50 vendors selling more than 10 million transceivers per year, generating more than $1B in sales, yet there has been limited detailed and accurate information reported. LightCounting has the data to prove it; learn more about it in our upcoming Webcast.
The Optical Transceiver Market Outlook Webcast will cover the following topics:
- Introducing LightCounting. Formally founded in 2005, LightCounting has been providing transceiver vendors with accurate, detailed and reliable market data since 2003. Starting on July 20, 2005, a summary of this data is available to the general public.
- Summary of Q1 2005 Survey results. This section will provide information on transceiver sales in the following calendar quarters: Q1/04, Q2/04, Q3/04, Q4/04, and Q1/05. In addition to reporting total sales, we provide a breakdown of sales by market segment, including SONET/SDH, Ethernet/Fiber Channel, WDM, Parallel links, and FFTX.
- Summary of 2005-2008 Market Forecast. LightCounting's forecast is not an attempt to predict the future. Rather, we use the forecast to illustrate trends observed in the market today and scale transceiver sales to the current traffic growth rate. Summary of the market forecast will include historical (2003-2004) and forecasted (2005-2008) sales of SONET/SDH, Ethernet/Fiber Channel and WDM transceivers broke down by reach, data rate and form factor.
